Industrial glossary

Plain-language definitions for procurement, workshops, and export buyers sourcing JCB-class heavy equipment parts from India. For company facts see supplier profile.

OEM part number
The part number assigned by the original equipment manufacturer (e.g. JCB) on drawings, catalogues, and dataplate references. Aftermarket suppliers cross-reference OEM numbers to confirm fitment.

Aftermarket spare part
A replacement component made by a supplier other than the OEM, engineered to match application dimensions and materials. Quality depends on documented specs, testing, and traceable batch QC.

RFQ (request for quotation)
A B2B procurement request listing part numbers, quantities, machine model, and destination. Rock Tearr Parts responds with written MOQ, lead time, fitment notes, and Incoterms for export.

Incoterms
International Commercial Terms defining who pays freight, insurance, and risk transfer (e.g. FOB, CFR, CIF, EXW). Export quotes from Rock Tearr Parts confirm Incoterms on the proforma.

GSTIN
Goods and Services Tax Identification Number for registered businesses in India. Rock Tearr Parts GSTIN: 06ABNFR6695L1Z8 — used on tax invoices for domestic and export shipments.

MOQ (minimum order quantity)
The smallest quantity or line-mix we can produce or dispatch economically for a SKU or RFQ. MOQ is confirmed in writing per quote — not assumed from catalogue browse.
Bulk orders →
Backhoe loader
A versatile construction machine with a loader bucket at the front and an excavator-style backhoe at the rear (e.g. JCB 3CX, 3DX class). Spare lines include hydraulics, driveline, engine, and GET.

Hydraulic seal kit
A grouped set of seals, O-rings, and wear rings for a cylinder or pump rebuild. Correct kit selection requires bore/stroke dimensions and machine model — quote with OEM or RTP part numbers.

GET (ground-engaging tools)
Wear parts that contact soil or rock — bucket teeth, adapters, side cutters, and cutting edges. GET life depends on material and ground conditions; quote with machine model and tooth system.

HSN code
Harmonized System of Nomenclature used on Indian GST invoices and export packing lists to classify goods. Rock Tearr Parts quotes confirm HSN against the actual lines — do not assume a single code for a mixed basket.
HSN reference →Export hub →
Pin and bush
Pivot hardware on boom, dipper, and bucket joints. Wear shows as play or knocking. Measure pin diameter and bush ID; confirm model and serial on RFQ rather than ordering by appearance.

Dataplate / model plate
The stamped or riveted plate on the machine showing model, serial, and sometimes engine numbers. Photographs of the plate plus OEM stamps on the part are the fastest path to a written fitment check.

FOB (Free On Board)
An Incoterm where the seller delivers goods on board the vessel at the named port; buyer takes freight and risk thereafter. Rock Tearr Parts confirms Incoterms on the proforma — FOB is one option among EXW, CFR, and CIF depending on the corridor.
Incoterms →Export hub →
EXW (Ex Works)
An Incoterm where the buyer collects from the seller’s premises and bears onward freight, insurance, and export formalities unless otherwise agreed. Rock Tearr Parts confirms whether EXW, FOB, or CIF applies on each proforma.
Incoterms →Export hub →
CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight)
An Incoterm where the seller pays cost, marine insurance, and freight to the named port of destination; risk typically transfers on board at origin. Exact insurance scope is stated on the written quote, not assumed from the acronym.
Incoterms →Export hub →
OEM-compatible
An aftermarket part engineered to interchange on the named machine using the OEM number as a fitment key. It is not a genuine JCB-branded part and is not sold as OEM dealer stock. Confirm stamps and serial range on RFQ.
Genuine vs aftermarket →OEM vs aftermarket guide →
Supersession
When an OEM replaces a part number with a newer equivalent. Quotes should use the current interchange, not only the number printed in an old manual. Send the machine serial with the RFQ so the desk can check the active code.
OEM lookup →How to read JCB part numbers →
Fitment
Documented interchange for a specific machine model and serial range. Visual similarity is not fitment. Rock Tearr Parts confirms fitment in writing against OEM or casting numbers before dispatch.

Packing list
Export document listing packages, weights, and line contents to match the commercial invoice. Issued with agreed Incoterms after the written quote — not generated from an informal chat price.

Certificate of origin (COO)
A trade document stating the country of origin for customs preference or clearance. Available on request for qualified export orders; confirm on the RFQ rather than assuming it ships with every carton.
